Avon Lake Board of Municipal Utilities Hires Chief of Utility Operations and Welcomes New Water Filtration Plant Manager and Facilities & Asset Manager

On Tuesday, December 21, 2021, the Avon Lake Board of Municipal Utilities (the Board) promoted Water Filtration Plant Manager, Greg Yuronich, to Chief of Utility Operations.

“Greg Yuronich has been a solid performer for us throughout his tenure as water plant manager, and his chemistry with Rob and The Board has convinced us that he will be a valuable asset as CUO,” said John Dzwonczyk, Chairman of the Avon Lake Board of Municipal Utilities.

Mr. Yuronich began his water and wastewater career in 2001 serving as the Water and Wastewater Superintendent for the Village of LaGrange. Mr. Yuronich joined Avon Lake Regional in 2012 as an Operator at the Water Filtration Plant. He was promoted to Water Filtration Plant Manager in 2017.

As the Chief of Utility Operations, Mr. Yuronich’s role is to assure the operations, maintenance, and safety of all treatment, pumping, and piping systems of Avon Lake Regional Water. Mr. Yuronich ensures that the utility meets the needs of its customers at a cost-effective rate and in compliance with all regulations. In addition, Mr. Yuronich will help drive organizational strategy and further innovation at Avon Lake Regional Water’s facilities.

In addition to Mr. Yuronich’s appointment, the Board welcomes two members to Avon Lake Regional Water’s leadership team:

  • Mr. John Christopher – Water Filtration Plant Manager, Avon Lake Regional Water
  • Mr. Robertino Kimevski – Facilities & Asset Manager, Avon Lake Regional Water

Mr. John Christopher brings over twenty years of experience in the water and wastewater field to Avon Lake Regional Water. Mr. Christopher has dual licensure from Ohio EPA in water and wastewater and laboratory certified by Ohio EPA. As Water Filtration Plant Manager, Mr. Christopher will oversee operations at the Water Filtration Plant. He is expected to join the staff in mid-January 2022, following his notice period in his current employment.

Mr. Robertino Kimevski has been promoted from Maintenance Man 1 to Facilities & Asset Manager. Mr. Kimevski joined Avon Lake Regional Water in 2007 as the Maintenance Man 1 for the Water Filtration Plant. Mr. Kimevski bring over twenty years of industrial maintenance and electrical expertise to the position. In his role, Mr. Kimevski will lead Avon Lake Regional Water’s quality improvement program, oversee the organization’s asset management, and leadership of the water distribution and sewer collection division.
