Under the general supervision of the Chief Utilities Executive, this senior leadership role is responsible for overseeing system expansion, capital project planning, business growth, and financial sustainability to ensure continued high-quality water and wastewater services for the service area. The Business Development Director will drive infrastructure development, foster regional partnerships, and align business objectives with Avon Lake Regional Water’s mission and regulatory requirements.

Maintenance Specialist – Water Filtration Plant
$30.67-$46.16/hour (DOQ) plus additional stipends and benefits
Avon Lake Regional Water is seeking a highly motivated Maintenance Specialist at the Water Filtration Plant. Under the general direction of the Chief of Utility Operations but receiving direct supervision and assignments from the Facilities & Asset Manager, this position maintains all plant and distribution and collection systems equipment, performs electronic and electrical work, read and understand electrical drawings, practice and set up preventive maintenance on buildings and grounds, be able to troubleshoot and repair PLCs, process equipment and instrumentation.

Water Filtration Plant Operator
Salary range $29.71 – $43.50/hour
Avon Lake Regional Water is seeking a highly motivated Professional Operator for the position of full-time Plant Operator at the Water Filtration Plant. This position will primarily be a relief operator to cover open shifts in the schedule, as necessary. Under direct supervision of the Water Filtration Plant Manager and/or the Senior Operator, when not covering shifts, he/she will perform various tasks related to the treatment process. This may include minor maintenance to chemical feed equipment, online analysis equipment, acceptance of chemical deliveries, filter washes, laboratory or production data entry and other tasks. Minimum Ohio EPA Class I Water Supply Operator License required.

Note: Relief Operator standard shift is 0700-1530 Monday through Friday -and-
Operator standard shift is non-rotating 12-hour shift.

Operator in Training – Water Filtration Plant
Salary range $25.88 – $37.60/hour plus additional stipends and benefits
Avon Lake Regional Water is seeking a highly motivated entry level Operator for the position of full-time Operator in Training at the Water Filtration Plant. This position will include comprehensive training ultimately concluding in independent operation of the Water Filtration Plant. Under direct supervision of the Water Filtration Plant Manager and/or the Senior Operator, he/she will perform various tasks related to the treatment process. This may include minor maintenance to chemical feed equipment, online analysis equipment, acceptance of chemical deliveries, pumping changes, filter washes, laboratory or production data entry, and other tasks. Applicant shall obtain a passing certificate for the Ohio EPA Water Supply Class 1 Examination from an approved examination provider within one year of employment.
