About thirty residents, attending an Avon Lake City Sewer Committee Meeting in Council Chambers Thursday evening, had the opportunity to ask questions about the basement flooding which resulted from the rain and snow melt that occurred during the night of February 28, 2011.
Representatives from city council, engineering, building department and Avon Lake Municipal Utilities staff participated in a presentation that described how the flooding occurred, what ALMU and the City are doing to minimize the chances of it reoccurring, and what residents can do to keep water out of their basements. Street Flooding, call Avon Lake Service Dept. at 440-930-4126 during business hours– 440-933-4567 after hours, and the Police Dept. will contact the Service Dept.
