On May 20, 2019, Avon Lake Regional Water, Rural Lorain County Water Authority (RLCWA), and the City of Elyria dedicated the West Ridge Interconnect. This ceremony was to recognize the partnership and collaboration between the organizations to make this station possible. To ensure customers have water readily available to them in an emergency situation, Avon Lake Regional Water. RLCWA, and the City of Elyria came together to create this pumping station for emergency situations. In an emergency situation, either the City of Elyria or Avon Lake Regional Water may supply up to 8 million gallons of water to the other. We hope to not have to use it, but if needed it’s available.
